Emmanuel's Trip to Ghana

Rev. Emmanuel Appiah, our Founder and President, went to Ghana in March 2008 for six weeks to inspect the land on which the study centre will be built and worked to ensure that the paperwork on the land is secured with Government authorities to allow construction to begin soon.

What a joy for Emmanuel to visit his country of origin and to connect with his siblings, other relatives and friends, having left the country for almost ten years.

While in Ghana, Emmanuel took the time to visit some pastors and evangelists. For the first time, he revealed to these pastors and evangelists about his dream of establishing a study centre to promote lifelong learning among them. These servants of God expressed their heartfelt gratitude to The Shepherd's Christian Centre for Spiritual Renewal for the proposed study centre. One of the pastors, Pastor Enoch, shared with Emmanuel that he could not wait for the building of the centre to be completed because he only has a Bible in hand and struggle to do a word study. He mentioned to Emmanuel that he does not have the money to spend on resources to aid his Bible studies and believes that when the study centre is completed he will benefit from the resources which will make him more effective in his preaching and teaching of the Word of God.

Emmanuel went with some of the pastors to Old Tafo to pray on the land, asking for God's blessings and protection on the land. It was amazing that during the prayers, it rained on the land. Because Emmanuel and the pastors did not go to the land with umbrellas, they had to cover their heads from the rains with broad leaves from the plantain tree. The pastors saw the rains as a good sign for the good things God is going to do at the centre when completed.

Emmanuel's Trip to Ghana - July 16- August 12, 2013
Emmanuel was again in Ghana in 2013, from July 16 to August 12. He went with a long time friend and father in Christ, Raymond Wright, an evangelist from the United States, who wanted to familiarize himself with the progress of work of The Shepherd's Christian Centre for Spiritual Renewal.

While in Ghana Emmanuel was able to find an architect and a contractor to help in the work. He also performed the sod-cutting on the land to allow construction of the buildings to begin.

Emmanuel was as well able to finish the registration of the land with the Eastern Regional office of the Land Commission of Ghana.

We are requesting prayer and financial supports from donors like you to bring the vision to reality. Please click the donation button at the home page to contribute to the blessing of our intended patrons - pastors, evangelists, and other church workers in Ghana.

November 2 - December 14, 2015 Trip
Emmanuel visited Ghana from Nov. 2 to Dec. 14, 2015, with the intention of starting the foundation of the library unit, the first to be constructed among the structures of the centre. While in Ghana he met with the contractor, Mr. Chris Katsekpor, and the architect, Mr. Albert Adade, to discuss with them about our project. From the meeting, it was suggested that we sent our drawings of the structures of our project for approval from the government, subsequent to the building of the foundation of the library unit

Emmanuel, Chris (contractor), and Pastor Amartey (our coordinator in Ghana) later paid a visit to the centre land at Tafo, in the Eastern Region, to determine where to put the library. On the visit, it was realized that a road construction was needed from the main road to the land for the transportation of building materials. With the help of the surveyor who drew our site plan, we were able to construct a kilometre road from the main road to the centre land.

Our intention of sending the drawings of the structures for approval and starting the foundation of the library unit was then suspended because the money meant for these jobs was used for the road construction.

Emmanuel got the opportunity to preach in the Ernest Bruce Memorial Methodist Church and The Light of the Word Church before his return to Canada.

We would like to thank our donors whose prayers and financial supports made it possible for the trip and the road construction.

We invite you to join us to bring our dream to reality - building a study centre for pastors, evangelists and other church workers in Ghana to enhance lifelong learning among them.
